Africa AI
Africa AI Week is a pan-African movement dedicated to demystifying artificial intelligence and empowering communities across the continent to confidently engage with and shape AI technologies. Rooted in the principles of accessibility, inclusivity, and local relevance, the initiative promotes AI literacy while equipping early adopters, innovators, and institutions with practical skills to solve Africa’s most pressing challenges.
With a strong focus on high-impact sectors such as Agriculture, Health, Education, and Climate Action, Africa AI Week creates spaces for learning, collaboration, and dialogue that reflect Africa’s realities and aspirations. Through workshops, conversations, and partnerships, it highlights Africa’s growing AI readiness and positions the continent as an active contributor to the global AI ecosystem—not just a consumer of technology.
Our Objective
To equip African communities with practical AI knowledge and skills that enable inclusive innovation, strengthen local problem-solving, and drive sustainable economic growth aligned with Africa’s social, environmental, and development priorities.
AI Curriculum in African Languages
Develop and deliver contextualized AI learning materials in at least 15 widely spoken African languages using AI language models.
Promoting Responsible AI
Support collaboration on Africa-specific AI challenges and inspire national initiatives to promote responsible AI, contributing to Africa’s AI strategies and readiness.
AI Literacy & Capacity Building
Create local AI communities and provide structured educational resources to enhance AI and Machine Learning skills across Africa.
Real-World Impact & Awareness
Generate interest and showcase AI’s real-world benefits in key sectors such as Agriculture, Health, Education, Civic Tech, Climate Action to drive sustainable development.
